Update: Reviewing my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Every appointment and hair/braid has continued to meet and exceed expectation. Tete has left and now we have had braiding done by Tiffany and Krystal and they have been amazing. Initial review: I had mixed feeling about this place and here’s why; I write reviews of places and I’m careful not to give the wrong impression to customers and also not to hurt any business but I think after patronizing this place 3 times, I can form an opinion that’s unbiased. My first time here with my daughter went smoothly, I found the place on Vagaro. My daughter said to rate the place 3 star because she felt pain all through the time. I kind of know she is very tender-headed so I was not bothered. I felt they deserve a 4 star. The hair that was done then attached first was full and beautiful, lasted us more then a month- this was just $65. That price is unbeatable in my book. But because this place is so far from home (45 mins drive which I hate so much- I hate to drive, I wished they were close to me) I decided to try another braider close to home, it was disastrous, the disorganization and the poor hair outcome. I immediately knew I made the mistake of my life cheating on shining star. The hair barely lasted a week (no I’m not exaggerating, it was a disaster). So I knew I would have to decide between horrible hair or drive back here, I chose the latter. I made my appointment for 12/10/22 at 3pm. This was a date that fit my schedule and my daughter’s but I got a call from Keisha to probably reschedule with another braider considering my daughter’s tender scalp. I liked that idea of caring for kids with tender scalp like mine. I needed to get her messy hair fixed as soon as possible and the dates left couldn’t fit good into my schedule but I tried to fit next Saturday 12/17/2022 this time for 12pm. Her braider (Jada) was the same braider on our first visit. But then because of the change in time (my work schedule, daughter’s rehearsal), I was running late. I called to inform Keisha I was running late but her tone this time was not the tender one that called me to reschedule. She sounded so harsh & that hurt so bad. My husband noted that my countenance changed after that call. I had to rush down to fit into this new date and ran 30mins late. Jada on second appointment made her hair into some big chunks probably because we ran late already. She was not smiling or even exchanged pleasantries with my daughter. She was again squirming in pain almost all through. The chunky hair was for $85, way subpar in number of braids and beauty in comparison to the first appointment that cost only $65. Because of all the huddles that came with the appointment, I decided to come one more time to get the true picture of this place and choose another braider. My next appointment was a tribal/Fulani braid with Tete and the hair was so beautiful and I felt that love/care we encountered on our first visit. Her hair done here always turns out so beautiful and my daughter loves it. In summary, I’ll give a 4/5. To get the best out of this place, keep your appointment date and don’t change it no matter what they tell you. Be on time always. Bonus to this place is the positive words written all over the place for our young kids. I love it. I got one of their store satin hair bonnet just because of those positive words. Jasmine G was absolutely wonderful. She was incredibly patient and accommodating to my toddler. It was his first time at the salon and it was a bit of a handful at times lol.She was very friendly and answered any questions we had. Cassan O also did my daughter’s hair . She was also patient and accommodating.She finished her hair quickly and very neat .My daughter has been having so much fun shaking her beads around lol. Both of my children’s braids were done beautifully and they’ve received non stop compliments.I will definitely be back.

Jasmine is the best so far . Not only is she a good braider but she was very attentive to my child. She actually cared and she was in active conversation with my child. My daughter doesn’t like the blow dryer but Jasmine didn’t get upset or frustrated like the other braider who did my daughters hair last time. Jasmine is very courteous, professional, and down to earth. I think moving forward I will always book with Jasmine. Her attitude goes a very long way she’s very kind with a bright personality THANKS JAS!

Jasmine G is amazing. She is always super friendly and always does an amazing job with my 5 year old. We have been seeing her for the past few months and everytime my son loves his hair. Jasmine did my 2 year old daughter's hair for the first time yesterday and it came out beautifully. She was so patient with her and made her feel comfortable. Ms. Keisha the owner is amazing as well. Book with Jasmine and you won't regret it.
