Sharkey's Cuts For Kids - Staten Island

I am so happy I came to this salon for my daughter’s first experience getting a haircut at a salon. Gaby and Marcie were marvelous. They are super patient with my toddler and have a good sense of humor. I loved all the products they used including the shampoos and the argan oil( I ended up purchasing it because of how soft it made her hair). This salon pays attention to fine details and make sure you approve all cuts every step of the way. I also appreciate the advice to promote her hair growth and nourishment for her scalp. The decor is so cute here, i love the car seats and tvs at the station. Entertainment is plentiful during their cuts . The only downside to this salon is the waiting area is chaos and quite long. I wish they had an actual playroom to keep toddlers busy beforehand. They do sell cool toys but every kid wants to grab them and go nuts. I did love the balloon and lollipops at checkout. The wash blow and cut was $40 which is not cheap, but these people put up with crazy kids they really do deserve top dollar! Service matches the price bigtime. I booked my appointment on their website with ease. Reception was great they helped me exit the salon with ease, they do care for their customers. I also was so happy to get complimentary hair clips and elastic ties. Can’t wait to return!

My 3 year old needed her first haircut, and I'm ecstatic that I found Sharkey's online and only 10 minutes away from us. They were excellent in every aspect from start to finish... to the friendly receptionist who picked up the phone when I called, happily booked my appointment, and allayed my fears about the fact that my girl twirls her hair so much that she's basically pulled most of it out on one side... to the greeting we got from the entire staff when we arrived (with everyone following COVID protocols)... to the nice woman who put my daughter in the Frozen chair and made her day... the list goes on! Gina was the woman who actually cut my daughter's hair and explained to us our options since she twirls it so much, and was so kind and interacted wonderfully with my daughter. The haircut came out great, I was so happy and wish I'd brought her here sooner! And then Olivia painted her nails, I had no idea that was part of the first haircut package! My daughter was ecstatic! They gave me a certificate, a lock of her hair, they got a great picture that they printed for us and attached to the certificate. I thought the prices were great. Overall, the entire experience was fabulous, especially the quality attention that my daughter received and the kindness of every single staff member. I will definitely take her there again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had such a wonderful experience at Sharkey's Cute For Kids! Grace took care of my sweet baby boy and did a fantastic job. She was so patient, kind, and kept him entertained and happy the entire time. I didn’t have an appointment and just walked in, and it was no problem at all. Parking was super convenient—I found a spot right out front. I also loved that they sell kid-friendly hair products, which we ended up purchasing. We’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend Sharkey's if you’re looking for a fun, welcoming place for your little one’s haircut!

First time here and Lenore was awesome. She was so kind and patient with my 18 month old. I’m so happy with our experience. Will definitely come back!

FANTASTIC first salon haircut experience for my 5 year old! I've cut her hair at home, but this was her first time at a salon. Lenore was so friendly and professional, put my daughter right at ease and was so lovely to talk to. She asked about how I like to style her hair and made recommendations based on that, as well as how to blend in her bangs which I had previously cut too far back. And again, Lenore was on point with keeping it a lively, positive experience - it was so noticable that when a 1 or 2 year old boy came in while my L.O's nails were drying, both of us noticed how Lenore kept her cool and got the little boy a great haircut even while he was crying (scared of the buzzer). Also, my daughter has a thing about getting water in her eyes (to the point waterparks aren't even her thing), but as you can tell from the photos, she was giggling and happy during her wash. And the minicure was so cute! My L.O. was so excited for the whole experience, she was smiling for the whole 45 minute session and as soon as we left, she immediately asked to go back for EVERY haircut! The price was completely reasonable - about $40+ tip. I haven't been to a salon in upwards of 10 years and this experience gave me faith in hair salons again. Totally worth driving clear across the island for!
